Mrs Rawes

Welcome back

Katherine Rawes (head) on: Mrs Rawes

On 8th September we welcomed back all of our classes to school. It was so lovely to hear chatter in the classrooms again after 6 months with the majority of our children learning from home.

We have put in place procedures to make coming into school easier, with hand sanitisation points. A massive thank you to Croda for their act of kindness donation which contributed to the purchase of our barriers:

Preparing for the wider opening of schools.

Katherine Rawes (head) on: Mrs Rawes

The Cowick team have been working hard to make sure school is safe when we re-open to children from Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. It may look a little different to how you remember.

We look forward to seeing you!

Stay safe.

New hobby?

Katherine Rawes (head) on: Mrs Rawes

What have you been up to in lock-down? I have decided to try and teach myself to play the piano. I have found a great little APP called 'Simply Piano'. I try to practice for 30 minutes each day and it is a fab way to unwind and chill out. Have any of you taken up a new hobby?

Year 6 Residential

Katherine Rawes (head) on: Mrs Rawes

Today, we would have been setting off with year 6 on our residential to Kingswood. Although it has been postponed until the end of June, we still aren't certain whether it will definitely go ahead. I am sure the Y6 children are as disappointed as Mrs Tuxworth and me as we were really looking forward to seeing the children working together in teams to solve problems. I know that some children have been planning on having their own 'mini' residential at home with their families. Why not consider doing some COLA (creative outdoor learning activities)?

I shall be camping with my boys in the garden in our tent this weekend, and we are planning on learning some bush craft and knot skills as well as completing a treasure hunt. Perhaps you might have a go at doing some of our Cowick 75 Creatives? Whatever you do, let us know....drop me a comment below! If you have any pictures of your outdoor activities, send them into cowickprimary@gmail.com with 'COLA' in the subject line.

Remember, stay safe! If you do take part in bush craft (whittling, den building, etc.)  make sure you have adult supervision.

Have fun everyone!
