Hello and a big welcome to our class page from all the children and staff in Year 5 and 6!
We are an incredibly hardworking class and enjoy each and every subject. We value the contribution every person brings to our class, which makes it a happy place to learn and work.
Our Spring term topic is 'Exploration. Is there anything left to explore?'. Here we will be learning all about key discoveries which shaped the world, what future exploration might look like, and the darker side of exploration. Alongside this, we will reading our class book The Explorer by Katherine Rundell.
Each week our class enjoys stories from our Reading Buddy programme, and completes Maths work through IXL. We also have weekly spellings and reading books/book packs.
Year 6 receive weekly homework linked to their revision guides.
The children are responsible for taking their books/packs home and bringing them to school every Friday. All children have access to Reading Buddy, where they can complete their levelled scheme and answer corresponding reading questions. They will also have a reading book which stays at school. They will record what they read in their Reading Records. We also have a class book each term. This term our reading book is Kensuke's Kingdom.
Weekly spelling test every Friday.
Sessions are Monday and Wednesday.
