
The Governing Body of the school is responsible for the overall, long-term, direction of the school. The Head teacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school.
The Governing Body meets once a term for a formal meeting. The General Purposes Committee, of which all Governors are members, meets regularly to discuss specific matters and issues such as finance. The Governors annually produce the school profile which is accessible at: www.schoolprofile.parentscentre.gov.uk/cowick.
The Governing Body includes representatives from various bodies who have an interest in the future of the school. These include four Parent Governors who are elected by the parents and hold office for four years.
