Cowick Primary School is in the East Riding of Yorkshire Education Authority and is part of the Diocese of Sheffield.
The school is a Church of England school for children between the ages of 4 and 11. It serves the villages of East and West Cowick and children can be admitted from outside this area where parents express a preference and a place is available.
The building itself is a mixture of old and new buildings. Some parts date back to the Victorian period whilst the school hall, a classroom and other facilities were completed in 2005.
To the side of the school is a large school field on which the children play in fine weather. It is also used extensively for outdoor sporting activities.
The Key Stage 1 children have their own, fenced, outside play area which they can take advantage of in fine weather.
Adjacent to the school is Cowick Church where the children partake in many services such as Harvest Festival and our Leavers’ Service. It is also used as a learning resource for Religious Studies, Maths, English and History. The school is also used by the church for events such as their Christmas Fair and Summer Garden Party.
